Smile Hello! Joining the Skoolie community in New York :)

Hello everyone! I bought my bus a week ago in Arizona and road-tripped it back to NYC in 6 days. (not 3 like I had planned). It's a TC1000 26 passenger bus with a 5.9 cummins. Everything runs great, except for the wheelchair lift that I can't figure out how to operate. (i want to load my motorcycle on there eventually)
I've been following this forum for a long time checking out everybody's build and I'm really grateful for this vibrant community.
cheers!
Gabriel

bus looks good - why did it take 6 days instead of 3 to drive it home, or is that a touchy subject?

Hi! well, a few things, the first day it took me some time to get a hold of the guys working in the bus yard and by the time i hit the road it was late. so half a day. and then i had a little bit of a freak out half way across, in Oklahoma, after stopping to get gas I go to start and nothing. many phone calls later and many online searches later I figured out that the connector behind the dashboard for the ignition had come off probably after years of vibration. just pushed it back in. took me 6 hours to figure that one out though. 6 hours of going through every system and using logic and deduction. Also two mechanics were quoting me a tow in plus hourly starting at 500... so I was motivated to figure it out. And I did. just needed a screw driver to open the dash board. definitely an interesting experience. I was also driving relatively slow the whole trip while getting acquainted with the bus and the engine. That plus the fact that america is HUGE! i grew up in france. I could cross the country from south to north in one night. that was a different story haha
