Hello World

What started as a quick 8 hour trip, turned into an 36 hour adventure. I picked up my Bus



And I am happy with it. The little DT360 faithfully speed me towards home at a mind numbing speed of 57 miles per hour, at least thats where it was happiest, just a bit short of all in. I learned a lot on that drive, and, how to drive, got to watch how the truckers do it, I have a new respect for them. You see a big rig on the road and you do not give it a second thought, until your behind the wheel and a whole new world is opened up before your eyes, wind, rain, drafts, hills, grades, to pass or not to pass....this is the question I am hooked. I gotta get a better seat though! So my name is Scott, I have three days to get the ol girl ready to sail. Ill be living in and working on at the same time. This will be my second conversion, third if you count the Toyota Van, oh the memories.

Always open for comments and suggestions. Ideas. Ill post pictures as things move along, going to get an angle grinder tomorrow and do the seats.

What do you think about putting the kitchen in the back? Corner style, with a table/guest bed behind it (other side of the back door) Ill draw a picture.

I hear ya on the seat. I got a newish air ride seat at a yard sale. Can't wait to put that in my bus. The seats are torture devices!

You can put your kitchen anywhere you want.

Putting it in the back has some advantages if you decide to build a rear deck with access to a roof viewing platform--just open the rear door and hand stuff in and out of the kitchen. Even without a rear deck it makes it easy to load the groceries in the back door with an easy reach then into the kitchen storage and fridge.

The disadvantage is you limit yourself to either a Murphy style bed or a twin/bunk bed arrangement towards the front of the bus--a queen or king takes up all of the space you need for an aisle. And you sure don't want people climbing over your bed to get to the kitchen.

At the end of the day it is your creation and you need to do what works the best for you.

Amen to that. It's completely subjective.

Keep in mind you don't want your fridge (and cold beer) on the far side of your bed.
