Once they stuck all the emissions stuff on they were called dtmaxx I think. No bueno. Expensive to maintain and even more to fix.

The "E" on any diesel indicates "Expensive". Actually, it indicates electronically controlled. Lots of sensors and computer stuff that routinely goes out...makes diagnosis very complicated (unless you are an electronics wiz with all the right equipment) and costs a small fortune to replace.

There are one or two folks here who can pretty much sort them out, but even the factory techs are often driven mad by that "E".

All mechanical engines are WAY simpler to live with.
