Hi another excited newbie here

Ivy Rose is a 2004 International, 7 window bus..T444E Diesel with air brakes. She is gorgeous and getting better with age. I got her in August of 17. Miles were 209,000. Paid $2,500 for her.

Excited, Overwhelmed, Content, Happy are just a few of the emotions running through me. I love driving her. I drove her from Boise to were I am currently living in New Mexico. I am also living in her while I make her into my home.

I have a question I am hoping one of you pros can answer. I want to make her into a Woody. Running wood down the sides in between those black stripes. ( I figure way less sanding and painting! Ha) Can I glue and metal screw the wood on or do you think I should bolt it on through the walls? I have just started framing the walls inside so I thought I should check now. Have any of you done this before?

My only suggestion would be to use wood that is happy with moisture. Either cypress or marine grade teak. And it will have to be finished the same as for a marine application which also means regular re-finishing. And since there is no way (I know of) to keep it dry on the backside...that too will require extreme waterproofing. A lot of work, but should be beautiful.

Mt best guess would be recessed SS screws or with plugs to hide them.

Thanks for your advice!!

Welcome! Glad to know your liking the bus, I'm currently bidding (first bus to bid on!) on an 04 international with the t444e! Does yours have Allison 2000 trans as well?

Where at in new Mexico? My friends got some land out in milagro where he's got a bus shell already and I may be doing some work there on my bus whenever I get one
