Hi from Oregon!

Hi There,

Susanna and Russ here in Portland.
The BF and I just picked up our first bus from the state yesterday. It's a 2007 International CE with 33 seats and a wheelchair lift. And glitter (it still has glitter on the seats from the last passengers ;)

We're so excited to get started and hope to have a beautiful, modern, scandi-inspired conversion finished by May.

But this weekend we're just going to throw a mattress in the back and head out to the coast, just because we can

Thanks! Really happy to be here.

It's a 6.0L V8 OHV 32V TURBO DIESEL
I know we're not going to get much fuel efficiency out of it but we're hoping to at least smooth things out a bit - it's running a bit rough at the moment but it's been sitting for a while and the last logged maintenance was 2017.
Any advice welcome!

The 6.0L is deemed to be an unreliable engine, but in my experience they will last a long time with regular maint and don't beat on it! Might want to figure out why it's running rough first.

I have the same bus but with the DT466. I even had tons of glitter too. I'm sure I will be getting glitter out for years to come. Mine came from NOLA.

Cool!
I used to know someone who always said that glitter was the herpes of crafting; you can never get rid of it ;)

10 MPG is actually pretty good. My bus gets 10 MPG and very happy with it. Most motorhomes get 4-8 MPG on average.

Yikes! My car in the UK gets 46-48 and it's not even very special. Bit of a culture shock there. Thanks for the reality check though!

If your 6.0 is running rough you should stop doing any other work till you get it running 100% perfect and maybe look into bulletproofing it. The techs at the local service center told me they're up to their ears in VT365 repairs.

How much does a caravan, lorry, or mobile houme get over there? Your car isn't a very good comparison!

Plus, remember that UK and US gallons are not the same. I forget which is bigger, though.

Ours is from the Albany district too! We got it on the Gov auction site. It's got 6 windows plus the wheelchair access door at the back, so it may we be a sibling for yours!

Indeed. But I'm afraid it makes it even worse than if it were the same. (It's .83 UK to 1 US) My diesel Yeti averages 57 US mpg, and while I know they're vastly different vehicles, I don't think I was prepared for the disparity and THREE mpg on the hills gives me a conniption ;)

Howdy from a neighbor just South of you in Eugene. I don't have a "skoolie" but my Matilda used to live in Portland. I got her summer before last and am slowly working on her. But, like you, didn't let that stop me from taking a few trips to the coast!

Welcome aboard!
