Hopeful skoolie

Greetings. My husband and I are looking at 2 buses to purchase for our new life as Gypsies. He got laid off (yay! He hated his job) and I am an RN who can work as a travel nurse, so we are hitting the road in 2 months to find the perfect homestead.
My mom has had some health issues, and we are going to start off by staying at her farm. She has lots of property, but no spare bedrooms. Our girls can sleep with grandma since grandpa sleeps on the couch, and our teen son can sleep in their old trailer, and we will sleep in the skoolie.
We are going to sell off everything we own that doesn't fit in the car, van or bus. We won't have time to do much to the bus before the move, just remove most of the seats and load up our mattresses and those those things we need to take.
These are the buses we are looking at:

Which would be a better deal? Neither of us has driven a bus before and I am a bit anxious about that. My brother used to be a city bus driver in SLC and we are going to fly him out to drive the bus from DC to Chicago area.

First off welcome

Those 2 buses are on total opposite sides of the field

if you plan lot's of road miles I would consider the OTR bus, living and not moving alot or long distances, I would think the school bus

OTR bus has lots of under body storage for tanks, electric etc

Check out busnuts forum and grease monkeys forum for more info on them

Again welcome

Yes, welcome. Since you're going full time it seems like a simply choice for the MCI. It might be worth it to fly your brother out to simply have a look at the bus, as he is probably your best judge of horseflesh in this important decision. It's so easy to make a mistake without experience.
Hang here for a while and you'll definitely expand your knowledge.
