Looking at a bus, need advice

just found a local (to me) 1987 Ford B700, 8.2 Detriot Diesel, Allison transmission with 213,000 miles.....decent price. The body, brakes and tires are all good. Looking in person this week.....thoughts?

Thanks

Semi-obsolete engine. Those Ford chassis ride like a farm implement.
Just my 2 cents.

I concur. I've never seen or rode in a Ford bus that was worth buying

Thanks for the input, I think I'll pass and keep looking, we're mostly going to traveling up and down the east coast to visit family so I need something good for distances, who knows maybe Alaska someday!

If serious travel is the plan, avoid that bus.
Get something with a DT466 or Cummins 8.3 and highway gearing.
Or a proper coach!

I think you should look for something that was the most popular bus of its day like International Bluebird International Thomas body Chevrolet bluebird something like that if you're tall you want to Blue Bird body they're taller inside I'm 5-9 and I'm good in a Thomas body it's exactly six feet inside the 93' Thomas body right in the center

Buses of various makes come with different ceiling heights based on how they're ordered.

I plan on doing a partial roof raise just to feel a bit more spacious since we'll be living in it full time once it's completed and we sell the house
