Looking in Dallas, TX!

Hi! My husband, our diesel mechanic buddy, and I will be traveling to Dallas TX July 12-15 in search of a bus!
Were looking for dog nose
Close to 40
Decent tires
And well enough maintained that it can make the trip back to Michigan! (:
We have a few lined up but would appreciate any leads!

See the below link the owners are good people (I just bought my bus from them)and they are always getting in new stock. It is in San Antonio but it might be worth a look through their website.
2008 International IC, Stock No: SB2008 by Alamo City Bus Sales LLC, San Antonio TX

If you got a diesel mechanic friend with you, then you are doing better than most when shopping for a bus. Good luck!

Yes! Were very lucky to have such a good friend whos a diesel mechanic and willing to go across the country with us! Lol even better hes letting us build on his property. (:

Our trip is getting close! Very excited and super nervous, trying to get all of our ducks in a row.

Our current insurance has a 30 day grace period for new vehicles, so were hoping our current insurance proof will be enough to get us home to MI from TX.
If anyone has experience doing it this way Id love some reassurance.

If all you are concerned about with the insurance is CYA if you get stopped then you should be good carrying your insurance card. BUT, check your insurance policy for stipulations. I believe progressive specifies they don't cover buses in that grace period.

When I bought my buses home I emailed the vin to my insurance agent and asked "is this vehicle covered under the grace period for purchases?".

They responded "yes".

CYA....

I'm with State Farm, they will not insure my bus as it stands as a bus. But I AM covered in it for the first 7 days. Good thing because I had a slight mishap at my very first fuel stop I'm embarrassed to say. Claims has verified that i was covered during that period. The State of Georgia allows you drive on a Bill Of sale for 30 days. So leaving Butte, Mt. and heading to Atl. with nothing other than the signed over Title and a BOS. I was questioned about not having a temp tag in Wash and Tn., both saying they weren't writing me, but I might get stopped again. Both times I was parked or pulled over already, I didn't get pulled over for no tag.

OP,

Fill out your profile so we can better answer your questions.

Things vary by state. o1marc got 30 days new purchase coverage from State Farm in Georgia but no option for continuing coverage.

I have State Farm in WA and got two weeks new purchase coverage and reasonably priced continuing coverage with a "commercial vehicle for personal use" policy.
