Me and the wife are running away

So me (matt) and my wife (Raina) currently live right on the border of il/wi. We have been talking about living on the road since we met, But for whatever reason we both started working towards our "future" and got jobs and an apartment and bleh bleh bleh. We are in our early 20's and want to run away before we get stuck. So we have decided to start planning for a life in a bus! We havent purchased a bus yet, but i figured this would be a good spot to start! We are trying to plan it out to be on the road by early 2019. We are looking for a short bus to start with, hopefully find one that has been started and finish it up ourselves, hopefully saving a little $$. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi!

We've got a short bus, probably about the shortest that isn't a cut-away van chassis. THings are fairly cramped and I've been eyeballing some of these 28 foot buses lately. Current bus is 22 nose to tail. There is for sure a trade of between being easy to live with (you can't park a 40 ft bus at Starbucks) and having space for the things you want (Want a shower, a bed that isn't a futon, a usable kitchen?)

If I was doing a "Version 2" I would make some changes, but we've successfully gone all around the USA in the last year so I regret nothing... But looking at other folks buses where they have sofas and a queen size bed that doesn't fold...
