new adventures!

Hi everyone,
My wife and bought an 89 Ford B700 over the winter. With the walnut floor and the composting toilet in place already, we started building bunks and a kitchen for our family of 6 to live in. My beautiful wife is the carpentress of the family, as I am not aloud to touch any woodworking tools, (because she is afraid of me cutting my fingers off,) I decided to focus most of my attention on the outside of the bus. The screens were easy enough to make for the entire bus and now I am focused on the bi-fold door. Any suggestions about what to do with it would help. I would like to have it open just like an RV door, but I don't know the first steps to take. Thanks in advance.

fordthomas do you mean like this?

https://www.diytrade.com/china/pd/92...or_System.html

I was going to to make a replacement one piece door and do a swing out mechanism. Not a powered system. However my wife likes the old bi fold doors. So, for now, Bi fold doors it is.

Notice the two attachment points are roughly in the middle of the door. Middle as in center line up and down, and equally spaced top to bottom. In all cases I have found there is a small link at the bottom or top to keep the door from being floppy. The door way is built to be kind of cone, or wedge shaped. The action of bringing the door closed, pulls it tightly into the door way. The harder you pull the door into the door way, the tighter the door is wedged into the doorway.
