Drews Crew

It would appear as if Drews Crew has found a really pretty nice bus.

If it has the DT466 the transmission on a 2003 is most likely the MD3060. Getting IC to release 6th gear might be difficult. But with 5 gears and 5th OD you should be able to cruise easily at 60-65 MPH without any problem.

Good Luck and Happy Trails to you!

That drive train in my Genesis allows 80mph at around 2200rpm in 5th. Opening 6th would improve fuel economy.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, ďGetting IC to release 6th gearĒ? What does that mean?

Search and read the forum there are many threads on insurance issues, they have all been addressed. Normally we get a commercial for personal use policy during the build out and then RV policy AFTER it's converted. Did you get the title changed with out a conversion completed? Title changed to what?

International renamed their bus division IC Corporation. Unfortunately it is not International that makes the decision. They have been easy to deal with. It's Allison that must okay the unlocking of 6th gear and they have been hesitant to cooperate with anyone here. Once Allison okays it, they send a letter to the Navistar dealer to unlock the gear.early 2000's and before haven't had much luck with Allison. The 3060 transmission is a 6 speed tranny that is electronically controlled and in many buses they only open 5 of the gears.
Unlocking 6th really has no relation to International that built the bus, only the engine manufacturer and the trans manufacturer.

New kid at skool!

Hello! We're getting married in 6 days. And after a few weeks of extremely stressful house hunting, we are considering going the opposite route and converting a bus to move in to full time.2 adults and one 5 year old boy.
I will begin my research here.
Any advice on necessities to have when moving in full-time with a child?
My research is starting from scratch.
Thanks so much!
We will be parked during the school year often in our hometown and will be travelling over summer primarily.
