Conversion Location in St Petersburg, FL (Help!)

Hello all!

We bought "Jolene", a '99 Blue Bird TC2000 FE, in December 2016 and are having a hard time finding a place to do our conversion. We have a place to store her near our home but there's no electricity and getting her in and out is a pain! We bring her home when we need electric but can only keep her here 24 hours at a time (popping/grinding rivets isn't gong too well with the neighbors either).

1. Does anyone know of locations in St Pete where we can either do our conversion or possibly store and convert her over the next 1 to 4 months? (We travel for work so there may be times we're away for a week or two)

2. Are there fellow converters in the St Pete/Largo/Clearwater/Tampa area that would like to share ideas, conversion tips or assist each other with our conversions? We're hoping to start a group, thread or forum for skoolies in the Tampa Bay area.

The seats are out and most of the wall panels. Next is get the floor out then insulate the walls, floor and ceiling.

We're trying to get her to a point where we can take her to the East Coast get together on Feb 10 in Apopka.

Any leads or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

I don't have any advice on a place to do the conversion, but I'm in Largo at the moment doing ours.. Also hoping to be ready for the Feb 10 get together. Would totally be up for checking out your project and sharing experiences and ideas.

Hey,I'm in Florida as well. I don't have any advice on where to convert it (I initially had it on a friends property, now it's sitting behind my work.. but it's mostly done). I'm over on the east coast in West Palm Beach.

If I can help at all, let me know and send me a message.

I've never had much luck even parking a car in the St Pete area. Good luck.
You'll probably wana find a storage lot just outside of town or something.
Or buy some land. That's the only surefire way to have peace of mind when it comes to the "where to park" question.

Thanks for the reply. Have you heard of "Suncoast Coach Services"? They convert buses to blood mobiles. They're on Calumet in Clearwater. The owner, Lee, is really nice and has years of experience converting. We're taking ours there on Monday to have then drain the ac/heaters of Freon and coolant so we can take them out. We're now heading up to the abandoned Wal-Mart parking lot on Tyrone to continue pounding out rivets!

That's awesome. We can hardly get our puppy to get in the bus so far. I think he'll be ok once it's a little "homier".
Will you be working on your conversion tomorrow? (Have you given it a name yet?) My wife and I were thinking about coming up to largo to meet you guys.

He likes to lay up in the driver's side window area... going to have to rig something up over there.

Absolutely we will, although I need to get out to my sailboat at some point as well. Our bus is currently named Sport Bus The Short Bus. I'm sure we can work something out.
