Hey Guys, I've been a long time lurker and been reading up and learning a lot from this forum. Well I finally bit the bullet and won a bus on govdeals. It's a 1983 Carpenter Cavalier that spent its life as a mobile command center for Oneonta, Al. DT-466 with 39,XXX miles, at least one generator, and large rear doors that will make for a great storage garage. Hopefully its in as good of shape as it looks from the pictures. I took a gamble and bought it sight unseen. The plan is to have it shipped up here to Virginia and get it back running since its been sitting for around 3 years. Best case scenario put some new batteries, oil, fuel, and filters and hopefully she will be good to go. Then the conversion starts!

Soooo jealous. Great new ride. I have a feeling it won't take much to get her running.

Thanks guys! I'm pretty excited to get her home and get started on it. Where's the best place to find service manuals and parts for this beast? Any international dealer? Or is there a good online source?

Congrats on the command center.

Normally manuals are difficult on older buses. Yours was reworked into a command center by a secondary builder. I hope you're good at tracing out wiring.

Yeah, at least half this forum was watching that bus.

Thanks Robin, I figured it be next to impossible to find a manual for the command conversion, but about the chassis and drivetrain? Any good sources?
