I’ll tell you we paid right around 2100 for it. I think we got an amazing deal all things considered.
One other factor would be the amount of rust.

Low miles and an upgrade over the 545.....I'd say you got a very good deal. I can survive quite easily without A/C so that's a non-issue for me. If it's a cheap or easy fix, that makes your deal even better.

It has no rust on it. Not a common problem in Texas unless you’re down by the coast so that’s a plus!

Hopefully the AC will be an easy fix!

I know it's a slim chance, but your name isn't will is it? Had a friend I haven't seen in a few years from Rockwall who was interested in school buses

I think that if you take a tape measure to your company truck and then to your bus you will discover that the company truck has a wheelbase not that different from your bus.

In other words, if you can get there in the company truck your little bus will be able to get through there as well as long as there is enough overhead clearance.

T444E's can have the HP adjusted. IIRC, the MD2000 is designed to be able to handle up to 225 HP. If you can find someone to do it you should be able to turn the HP up a little without having to worry too much about any problems. Of course overheating could be a problem on a hot day on a long steep hill. But that is why you have gauges to tell you about what is going on.

Keep us posted as to your progress and please include lots of pictures. We all really like pictures!

Good luck and happy trails to you!

Thank you for the advice cowlitz! I intend to make sure I put the overhead height inside of the bus and possibly put an antenna or something the same height as the tallest point somewhere on the front to make sure I'm not hitting the cab on anything!

I will surely start looking into bumping up the power, hopefully it won't be too much of a chore finding someone to help.

Heading to pick her up in a few hours!
