New here, thinking of buying 1989 Chevy G30 Short Bus-What to Look For?
Hi, y'all! I'm in rural Tennessee, and my husband has found the vehicle of his dreams but hasn't bought it yet. It is a 1989 Chevrolet G30 short bus (I think it has 4 rows of windows). He says it has "a little over 100,000 miles" on it, runs, has relatively new tires on it and all the seats are removed (but available). It would cost him $1500 cash should he decide to buy it. Oh yes, he is not really mechanically minded (his dad is though and would prob enjoy this sort of thing), but he told me the guy said the bus had a leak in a transmission hose, or was leaking transmission fluid, or something like that.
What I'm wondering is whether there are some other key questions he should ask the owner or look for. He is going to look at it further tomorrow and get a mechanic he knows to take a look also. He is very excited about owning a bus and since he's a college prof and will have the summer off, he would enjoy fixing up a bus and impressing all the kiddies. Thanks for any suggestions!
