New in Sacramento Ca

Hi all!

Been living the tiny lifestyle in a off garage apartment and I have convinced my partner that a skoolie would allow us to see the world like we want, and give us a better quality of life than we have now.

I plan on saving about 7 grand before i start looking at buses, but that hasn't stopped me from taking inspiration.

What advice would you pass along to us?
What should we be careful of?

Awesome sauce! I have a background in welding and the S.O. works on cars more than I do.

You already have a great start in that you found this forum. More bus conversion savvy here than anywhere on Earth. And great folks ready to share their experiences.

put together your logistics and financials.. do some research.. ie how you'll plan to continue to earn income, as well as how and where you will park when you arent moving along day to day.. depending on where you go, it can still be pretty pricey to park for extended periods.. obviously making friends and researching ahead goes a long way toward a succesful skoolie life..


I spent years building cars before i got into busses... working on busses is real similar.. albeit if you need to read and program the engine computers, the tools can get pricier.. .. you'll finally have a reason to keep that 1 1/4" wrench in your toolkit.. some of the bolts on busses are big
