New Member and Need Some Opinions - A Bus I'm Looking at Purchasing - Need

Hey everyone,

I'm Brandon and I live in Ontario, Canada. My wife and I are looking at purchasing a school bus to convert and would like some opinions on whether or not it looks like a good bus for the price they are asking. We are rather new to this whole area and we don't know a lot about purchasing a school bus so any help that you can offer us would be greatly appreciated.

The bus we are looking at is a 2002 International Harvester, 7.3 Turbo Diesel engine, automatic Allison transmission with 289,000 km on it. They are asking $4,900 for it.

Thank you in advance, I look forward to getting to know you all here

IDK about Canada but around here you could get a bus like that for 2-3 grand.

The turbo diesel is a plus and depending on which Allison transmission will have some bearing on longevity and suitability for your purposes. Otherwise we have very little info to go on for an advisement. If you know more info or have pics or a link to an online ad that'd be very helpful.

Welcome to the forum!

Hi, Brandon. Welcome.

$4900 CD is about $3800 USD. That's a bit expensive, depending on the condition of the bus. If it's super clean, with little to no rust, I'd offer $4500 CD. Otherwise, I'd offer $4000 CD. That's the upper range of what that bus generally sells for here in the states. Maybe another Canadian here knows what that bus is worth up north.

Good luck!
