New to the Skoolie concept

Hi all,

Just recently found this site and finally registered today. I've been thinking about doing about doing a skoolie conversion myself and just trying to gather information on designs, struggles, and costs before making the plunge. I'm a recent university graduate so money is a little tight but from what I've seen so far and priced out, it is doable.

I'm just outside Denver Colorado and one thing that I am noticing is that most buses seem to be for sale on the East coast. Where did everyone find their buses? and what are some good resources for finding them?

welcome and read up on this forum. east coast greater population thus more school buses. I am from Oregon and found my bus just an hour south of me. https://www.publicsurplus.com/ and https://www.govdeals.com/ are the most popular auction sites. let us know what you want. full size, shuttle bus, etc. again, read as much as you can.

Yet many of us have bought buses from the other side of the country. The North East uses a lot of salt on their roads in the winter and thus create rust issues by the time the bus is decommissioned, so we stay away from those. PNW usually as some good rustler buses.Use the search bar above to ask "Places to purchase a bus", There will be a list of auction sites to view. Spend some time reading here before asking basic questions that you will find have been answered 100 times already.
