These buses we build are a pretty big investment. IMHO, it pays to spend the $500-$1000 to go check out the bus, If you find a good one for $2500-$3000, you're into it $3000-$4000, same bus from a dealer would cost you $6995.
I bought 2 buses unseen, one I got lucky and they refunded after agreeing it was not as advertised. My bus I bought off Craigslist and flew from Atl. to Butte, Mt for it.
95% of the buses at auction have recently been decommissioned and were running routes when decommed. Ask a lot of pertinant questions on the auction buses to make sure there are no obvious major issues.
