Hi guys,
I sail around the world and have two feature length sailing films you can watch for free at www.projectbluesphere.com.

I want to have a place back home and looking into converting a bus. The full size school buses have really bad fuel economy and thinking of either a short bus, or one on a Ford diesel frame. Can anyone tell me if you can stand up, or what the headroom, and gas mileage is in one of the Ford e-series buses?

Peace

Alex

Welcome,

I have a 5 window E450 cutaway that gets about 12mpg and a 40' Bluebird that gets around 10 mpg. Not as big of a difference as you might expect.

No, not that much of a difference at all. I'm really trying to find the right vehicle, I will want to convert to 4x4, I also make documentaries and need to get off road

Pick a vehicle that best fits the purpose you have in mind.

Don't worry about diesel fuel economy (they are all roughly the same), they all suck and it is what it is.

I'll never buy another gas vehicle in my life unless it's a snowmobile

I'm looking for a vehicle I can have a queen bed, a table for two, refrigeration, stove, and stand up headroom would be great. I'd probably tow a small jeep, or maybe just an Enduro motorcycle. A full size bus seems to big for my wife and I. We are used to living on boats and are comfortable in smaller spaces.
