Newbie here! Need advice on a bus. Any help will be MUCH appreciated.

So like the title says, and I hope this is the right place to post, I'm a real newbie with all of this. I was hoping someone in the community could offer their sage advice with two possible busses I'm considering, or any general advice. So, like I said, I've found two busses that I'm considering. Problem is - I don't know the first thing about engines and whatnot, so I don't know what to ask about, be sure of, look for, watch out for, what's good what's not to make sure I don't make a bad purchase.

The first is described as - "1996 THOMAS IHC SCHOOL BUS. 7.3L Ford/IHC diesel with new injectors 20K ago! Runs better then new!! Rebuilt auto transmission. NO SEATS-used for short term storage"
The second - "1998 Thomas Body Make – Thomas Capacity – 83 Passenger Out of Service Date – 07-15-2015 Fuel – Diesel Engine – Cummings 5.9L Transmission – Automatic Brakes – Air Mileage – 169,243
"
Again, any help will go a long way!! And sorry if this is the wrong place for this post!
Thanks, Peazle

Can you give us URLs for either of these? I assume you found them on the InterWebs - Craigslist, Ebay, PublicSurplus, GovDeals, etc.

Can you fix the broken timing cover yourself?

The first one looks nice but whats the price?
