Newbies with a New Bus!

Hello everyone,

Thanks for such an amazing resource, we are going to need it ;)

I am a student in Complementary Alternative Medicine specializing in nutrition and herbalism, and my fiance is from Wales and is a graphic artist that designs some amazing graphics for businesses!

Thankful that my dad drove this thing home for us, because I have no idea how to do it yet but just had to jump on the opportunity we found on Ebay only an hour away from us. We are the proud new owners of a 1988 GMC Bluebird Bus. We don't have plans yet, but are hoping to get it going some time this week.

Glad to have found this forum!

Oh goodies another GMC! V8 gas motor? Pictures please!

Driving 'em is a simple matter of being careful and trying not to flip with excitement!
oh...and turn wide. lol

You're right, except that I'm from WV and HE is from UK. I loved it over there though, Wales is absolute magic! Haven't gotten to visit Scotland yet.

It's a 8.2 Liter Detroit Diesel.
I am sure you're right! I have driven pretty large Uhauls, but didn't have to worry about the air brakes.

Hello and welcome. Go to the home page and the "how to" section. Find "how to post pictures". It explains it there. I'm not a tech nerd, and even I was able to figure it out with the instructions there... again- welcome to the madness..

If I upload directly from my iPhone, I get weird results... But, if I upload my pics to photobucket app, it works flawlessly... But, if it's a full sized iPhone picture, I'll screenshot it and upload the screenshot for faster results, then delete the original if it's not save worthy.
It's a Megabytes vs. Kilobytes kinda thing.

Example: upload from iPhone timed out... But upload with photobucket app only took seconds, then I copy the url& post it here.
But, the attached image is blank

I was unable to get the image to go as a file attachment, and tinypic wouldn't work.. I didnt want to sign up on photobucket just yet. We did do a video though and are planning on keeping a Vlog of the project on youtube.

You certainly seem like a nice chap! I always forget how good a Welsh accent sounds. All the Scots in the family make me appreciate a more understandable dialect.

The Scots On The Rocks festival is in Moab Ut in 2 weekends. It's JUST like Scotland, except for landscape, people, food and weather!! Should be fun though!

Nice progress. You guys are an excellent advertisement for rigid insulation installation. I'd be curious to know the approximate cost of materials for the insulation. That looks like an excellent installation.

Another couple years and you'll be able to get some work out of those kids. What a fun age for them to get to travel in a bus.

Stay on schedule.

Thanks a lot! I actually posted the vid in the wrong thread, oh well. haha

The insulation costed us around 400 I think. It was 1.5 on sides and ceiling, and 1 inch on the floor.
