Ok ok ok..........:-p

1ST off...great forum/resource. Lots of inspiration.

I'm a long time lurker. Built a couple buses, etc, etc......
Guess I best post at last.
The "Scared to Post" under my nick needs to go.
I'm in Ohio.
Shopping for another bus.
Completed or mostly done would be a nice start.
Prefer not to start from scratch this time.
Gonna go the solar power/composting toilet, etc. avenue this time I'm thinking.
I'm open minded, but the perfect bus for me this time in my mind would be mid-size, gas and a 5 speed manual.
But, like I said, I am open minded.
Prefer International drive trains in a diesel.
GM in gas.
But...I am open minded. Did I mention that?

Last bus was a 89 Carpenter body Chevy. 8.2 fuel saver and auto trans.
First bus was a 59 Ford with a 312/ 4 speed.

Anyway.........now I've posted.
Likely be posting more.
HI YA!

Welcome.
Sounds like your last one probably looked a lot like mine I just started. I went with gas on both of my smaller ones but will probably go diesel on the full size. We'll see..

I like diesel. It's smart way to go I imagine. But I'm not super familiar with them like I am with gas. Being able to trouble shoot and repair on the road is a big plus! A nice 350 or 427 I can repair blindfolded and on the cheap. So it's worth the trade off to me getting worse mileage. Gas getting hard to find. I'd love to find an solid older one... 60's to mid 80's.

I had the 89 for about 4 years. I heard a lot about the 8.2 Detroit being a bad motor, but mine started in any weather easy and was always dependable. Got about 10-12 mpg on the highway. I never drove over 60mph.

I always regret selling them. Thought I was going to go with a 5th wheel. But the bus thing gets in your blood. lol The travel trailers and RV's are either far too expensive or flimsy.

I'm shopping. Really want one 1/2 done or mostly done (they are never done). Not wanting to go from scratch this time.
