On my way to mobile living.

Greetings, all.
I plan to buy a bus around 48 passenger size, conventional, and spend the next two or three years converting it. Simple, but elegant. No flourishes.
Other than the fuel in the tank (pref. diesel, so I can convert someday to vegetable fuel or additives), this monster will be a pure solar beast.
No propane anywhere in sight, except perhaps an emergency backup heater for the occasional crisis.
Before too long, I and my two cats will head north to visit Acadia, then south to see The Keys, and eventually west to that coast over there.
Having traveled some by then, we may have a better idea of where to settle - or that we don't want to settle at all.
I promise to stay in touch with my siblings and to visit my three daughters, and to have accommodations for visitors to "Little Green." (I hope to paint the bus mid-60s Pontiac pale green, just like the '66 Tempest convertible I owned many years ago, but it's a reference to Joni Mitchell and family.)
~
Now my task is to dig around these fora and learn about you and what you have done and how - and try to learn lessons I will need for my own work.
Thank you for reading.
Best regards,
The Perfesser.

Welcome Perfesser

You can learn a lot here and avoid some costly redo's. You're approaching things the right way. Nobody ever mentions all the skinned knuckles we get working on these projects. It helps if you can find a build thread specifically on the model and year of bus that you will eventually choose. So many choices.
