Question for all
Should I keep my bus bus 102 with a major oil leak and was ran hot few times or switch to bus 101 with only a cranking problem but still runs

All i see is a dim pic of a bus with one way in the background.
You gotta give us something to go on. Find out alll the specs. the transmission- what model?
What engine? What HP rating? Axle ratio? Tire size, age (check date codes), all that stuff is how you determine what bus to buy.
Planning of a cross country road trip? I'd look elsewhere. Planning to build something to live in and only occasionally move around in a bit locally? maybe a decent deal then.

either bus at $1k is going to be a money pit. if you can only afford $200 a month it will be a year before you have it fixed to drive it off his lot.
save your money for something that is less of a money pit.

My daily driver is a bus I bought for $1760 from Aurora Colorado. On Public Surplus.
Made it all the way home just fine, runs GREAT, does 70+, nearly new tires...
Cheap buses are do-able. But you gotta really know what you're lookng for and what you're buying or you can really get burned.

In my humble opinion you need to give 102 back to the shop. You don't want to pay to fix it. If 101 is in similar shape you should pass of that one too. It's not that hard to find a good bus. As CB said, it's not that expensive either.
The price of 102 is not a normal price for a vehicle of that age. That's more like the price you'd expect to pay for a B&B bus. Or in layman's terms, that's a price you'd expect to pay for a bus without an engine. It's more likely that you'll pay between $2k and $3k for a decent bus.

Yea. I might give 102 back 101 is a 1996 and it runs but only has a cranking problem it's something with the wiring from witch to starter and seliod on it. 102 runs but major oil leak and ran hot few times. I want a bus so bad tho

You don't want a bus that's going to cost you lots of money to keep it running. It sounds like the ignition switch might have gone bad in 101. I don't think a toggle switch is a good way to be starting your bus.
If you can take a camera when you go to look at 101, we might be able to help you avoid another bus ride part way home. My guess is 101 isn't that much better than 102. A bus barn would be a good place to shop for your bus.

I think what we're trying to say is there's a reason why they sold five specific buses to a scrap yard. If 102 had been overheated several times they knew the engine was no good.
Personally I'd rather deal with the electrical issues of 101 than to end up rebuilding 102.
It might be possible to rescue one of them, but it's going to cost you more than if you bought a good bus directly from the bus barn.

True. It's gonna hard to let 102 go but I'm going to get 101. And the bus shop we get rid of buses that are old and don't use anymore. Especially buses like bus 105. It's Down there too. It always break down and run hot every time they give it back to the driver

The point is those five buses were meant to be scrapped or parted out. Destined for demolition because they were to expensive to repair anymore. It's unlikely that you will make a good bus out of either 101 or 102. I'm betting 105 is no prize either, but that's just a guess.
When you were driving 102 home, was it on five wheels?

Yes 101 and 102 has all wheels and lights. 102 don't have the front school bus lights on which it's no biggy cause they gonna have to come off anyway
