Congrats on going tiny !......I considered an RV myself because the package is fully sorted and for the same cash you might get something more current . I opted for short bus because I just couldn't handle velour seat and particle board hahaha. I love the DIY stuff and I found a fantastic new-ish bus with less than 20K miles on it .

You CAN find used skoolies advertized on schoolbus conversion IG accounts though......I see one every week.

Well I have looked everywhere, and so far I have not seen anything like the one you got with 20k miles! And I think a short bus would probably be too tight for me... I don’t know... I have not been in a converted bus yet!

I think it's a good idea to follow the tag # skoolie or schoolie on instagram.....I see them posted about once a week with a link to their site.

saw this one just today :

https://nossaman.wixsite.com/emeraldmilebus

but there are a few accounts that rebroadcast ads ( gotta get the app ! )

The Emerald Bus is a beauty... but the price, outside my budget!!! Thank you sooo much for thinking of me... now i’m even more depressed!

I have to make a decision this week. My last resource will be to see if any school buses are being decommissioned -now that school is over and like hazz.matt160 suggested- or buying one blindly on eBay, or just getting a travel trailer and buying a car. Regardless, I lack the braveness of the Hubbards!

Also, I just noticed the buses on the link above have a great amount of mileage. The buses I have seen on eBay seem not to have such high mileage and even look like they’re in better condition.

Again, thank you for thinking of me!!

I posted about an 8 window converted school bus in Canada this morning - $6000 Canadian, ( about $4520.48 US - from the pictures, the conversion seemed to be neat - nothing fancy, but nicely enough done -- I'll look for it again if you'd like

If that bus is basically sound mechanically, that's a pretty good deal. I thought that when I assumed it was $6000 US.

Maybe my perception is being warped by people (supposably) selling skoolies for $45 grand.

I'm quite sure it was listed for $8 grand when I first saw it this morning - big price drop on the first day it was listed if that's so

The only warped perception is the seller thinking he can actually sell it for anywhere near $45k. Nobody is selling Skoolies for $45k.

Just saw the lady... don’t know why, but I was not as thrilled as when I saw the emerald bus. Maybe it’s the age of the bus and then of course, not knowing what’s been done... I think that “Lady” needs a Gentleman to adopt her. He probably would understand her a lot better than I would.

Thanks for thinking of me though!!

So funny how kids throw a bus together, make an IG page about it and think they'll get 75 grand for it.
Anyone paying that kind of money is a total custie.

There are TONS of "skoolies" for 50-75 grand all over. Its totally lame and totally greedy but there are dopes that will buy an uninsulated bus painted with latex paint for those ridiculous prices. Sick and sad!
Looks like at least a dozen people paid those ripoff artists in TN for "bus conversion".

Looks like a decent deal on a basic bus to live in. Would probably be a good choice if faced with living in a motel TOMORROW.

There are tons of Skoolies for 50-70 grand because none of them are actually selling anywhere near those prices.

The ripoff folks in Kingsport have sold at least 6-12 at like 55 grand.

Don't get me wrong, I hope there are lots of suckers that will give me a fair price for mine when I sell it. You guys have me scared to death that you can't retrieve any ROI on a Skoolie. But I have since learned that there are people with money who want a Skoolie and haven't a freakin clue what it takes to build one.
