The Journey Begins

Well very excited to see all these people sharing there knowledge about bus conversions as I am a total newbie in this realm and am about to embark on the quest for portable housdome. I am about to go to another state and potentially buy a 1991 Blue Bird School Bus diesel GM with 60,000 miles on it for $5000 seller is not sure what kind of engine (see pic below) and tranny it has, wondering if that is a good deal? and What I might want to look for when I go down to buy in a week or two? as I am new to this I dont really even know what are the week elements in buses like this and any feedback as to what I should be looking out for as a red flag for the purchase of this bus would be greatly appreciated.

Im super excited about this process and hoping this bus will work for our conversion. My girlfriend and myself plan to be living in this bus within the year, I have already put a deposit down to hold. will be traveling to the bus location in a week or so to check it out with mine eyes and hopefully drive back to colorado.
