Waterproofing roof and ceiling
Hello everyone! Thanks for popping in. I am wondering what may be a good approach to water proofing my roof outside and the ceiling inside.
I am going to be putting a roof deck on top of Meri so, there will be holes for the mounting hardware that are going to to be fastened into the steel ribs of the roof.
Before I deck it however, I want to coat both the roof outside and the ceiling inside for 100% water proofing.
Anyone?

I would suggest using 3M 5200 to seal anything bolted to the roof, it's a waterproof glue used in boat building, although it's great it can sometimes be impossible to remove so keep that in mind as well, just drill your hole put a ring of 5200 around it when you bolt it down don't tighten it all the way just enough to seal it tight then let it set up for about 12 hr then tighten it down. the rest of the roof can be sealed with any rv roof sealer coat(the thick rubbery white paint).

I'd use 3m seam sealer, and then I'd paint it flat white with regular old rustoleum. It'll look good, be sealed, and won't peel, yellow, or have dirt stick to it. Flat white will also do the best job of reflecting the sun's heat away.

How about waterproffing the inside ceiling?
Is Red Guard waterproofing membrane a good choice?

as long as the roof is water tight from above I see no reason to seal it on the inside, what do you plan to do with the bus? I have no first hand experience with red guard so ill leave that to others, the website says its pink and not paintable. IMHO I wouldn't seal it from the inside without first sealing the outside otherwise what ever goes through the outside will be trapped in the layers from the inside seal and could cause more problems.

I have used this stuff https://www.epdmcoatings.com/liquid-roof.php on my trailers, and RV's with good results. It isnt the cheap way to go but lasts for years in the hot california sun

I'm with ECCB...clean all the existing outside seams and reseal with OEM grade automotive seam sealer. Then coat the whole roof with a good grade white elastomeric.
Forget the inside unless you are building a mobile aquarium and need to keep water in.
