50 years!!!!!!!

Celebrating 50 years with my wonderful wife. We're going to split some wood this morning before it gets hot.(her idea) then we'll play it by ear for the rest of the day.

Traditionally, "Wood" is the gift for 50 years.
So long as it isn't coniferous. Something to do with how hard that can be...
Congratulations, and good on yas! [emoji106]

I'm not THAT young!!!!! Ash does split really easy except, for the stuff that doesn't. Lots of crotches and knots. My splitter just cuts the crotches, you couldn't split that stuff by hand. Or I should say I couldn't.

Ol' John Henry might be likely to, not so much so for the rest of us!

Congrats on 50! Not many of us can say we've made it that far with a significant other...
Can't make out the rating on your Navy pic. Were you a signalman?

My eyes ain't what they used to be, sorry. Having sailed 4 years of my youth away onboard one of our great fleet aircraft carriers, I should have recognized it!

Thanks for your service, as well.

l think you'll find that the 5th anniversary is wood - l remember asking our party guests to bring plywood as a suitable gift - neither my wife nor our guests thought it was a good idea at all - didn't even get a stick of kindling - 50 years is gold
