Between the parts, the man hours, the gasoline to.from parts store, and time lost from work, not to mention extra beer, sounds like it may have been cheaper to let Farmer Scott do it for you and pay him in beer...

Guess I'm kind of lucky in this area, I work for a truck dealer, and the bus conversion is being done on their back lot. So I have access to Mechanis, tools, & lots of combined knowledge...plus a whole wharehouse full of heavy truck parts!!

Wow, I was hooked and read that entire thing. I don't know what to say except maybe put it back to gether, fill it with fluid and drive to the nearest shop shouldn't take them that long now that you loosened it all up for them

I have had things go like that also.......Just to let you know I'll go and pick up some beer and think about it. At this point all I can think about is a bad cyl. Good luck.

you are an excellent story teller. I really appreciate your writing skills.

as for the bus, i don't have any good advice, but i really enjoyed reading the story. Lots of passion!

i especially love that you document that fact that you stop and look at things....that's great!

brakes

isn't there a steel brake line going between the upper and lower cylinders? It probably has a hole in it, check it. What about a new hub seal? Great story and I will put coal oil on the fire and say you probably should do the other side while you are at it then the rears will be done. If the right is bad then the left is right behind. When I brought my bus home from Salt Lake City I had so much trouble getting it to run and climb up the mountains that I was seriously thinking about setting it on fire and taking a greyhound home. Let me know if/when you want to come to Fulton and get that stuff, BRING THE BUS! GOOD LUCK!!!! sportyrick

Good advice on doing both at once. It is generally recoemmended that you always replace pads or shoes at the same time just to equalize braking force, even though you could balance things out with the adjusters in theory.
