Anyone in the Tucson Area?
So is there anyone in the Tucson area that would could take a look at the buses available on Public Surplus? There are a bunch of BB RE with 8.3& mt643. They seem ok but an actual eye on them would help to know.

No good, it seems all 27 of them went bad at the same time.
What do you want to hear? Zero rust, tons of hours and miles. Anything rubber-seals, gaskets and hoses - will need attention/inspection. They were maintained, but can get 'deferred' at EOL.
They look good to me. My brother in law is out there, but he'd want $300 to skip golf to tell you what I told you.

I just worry they are not as they have been described and then get stuck with it. I doubt I could make the five day pick up which would be end of next week. Wished they were closer to me....

They will work with you if you pay for it. Even if they charge $10/day, no big deal for a week, but NONE have charged me so long as I communicate.
If you want a big, clean bus, they are that. The School District does not want problems for a few thousand dollars. They are not used car salesmen- State employees doing their job. They don't make more money if it sells higher.
If it moves, you won't get stuck with it. Remember, it always has scrap value @ 20,000 lbs.

Just finished spending about 90 mins under those buses. They are serious about the 5 days, buses are being stored temporarily in a high school parking lot.
PM me for details, if you're bidding let's not work against eachother!
The long and short, there are some good ones in there but basing your decision posted mileage and the limited pics they have could get you in trouble. I'm glad i took the half day from work and drove down.

You can check out these guys at WeGoCheck.
For $99 they will check it out
Includes
40 Photos
VIN Verification
Make/Model Verification
Odometer Reading
Note Major Visible Damage
Vehicle Equipment Options
For $35 extra they will take a video walk around and let you see/hear the motor run, a/c run, lights work, etc.
I think this is a viable option for those not wanting to fly, drive, take a bus or train 1000's of miles to find out it's a POS.

That's an option but this particular auction only lets you visibly check the buses - they dont have keys on hand and won't turn them on.
All but the 1995 buses listed need to be powered on to read odometer or hours. The 95 buses match the listings for the most part, but you can see that in the pics.
