That must have slipped his mind.

Guns are simply a tool to be used. If a person intends on killing another, then not having a gun won't stop them. If we should ban all things used to kill, then we would not have any hands either!

Ever seen the damage a pneumatic nail gun loaded with a big coil of 3 inch nails can do? Remove the "safety" and you can shoot nail quite a ways. With one of the "fuel cell" powered nail guns, you don't need a compressor. Gives new meaning to the phrase "Nailed him".

"Judge, I was just protecting myself with my nail gun!"
You mean a nail gun like this one........ https://picasaweb.google.com/1160872289 ... 8394862690

Yes. If some nutjob ever comes in shooting, that armed coworker might save my life. Besides, any fears I might have do not justify curtailing the rights of another person who hasn't harmed anyone.

Guns are bad. People don't kill people, guns do...all by themselves.

I'm reminded of a viewer response to a TV broadcast about the 1991 mass shooting at a Killeen, Texas, restaurant that began with the killer driving his pickup truck through the restaurant's window: "a lot of talk about banning guns, but nobody is urging the government to ban pickup trucks."

Indeed. It's not the gun per se but the one who has it. And yeah, we've got pneumatic nail guns at Home Depot. If any of my coworkers were dangerous, they wouldn't need to "pack heat."

Re: AUTOZONE FIRES EMPLOYEE FOR BEING A HERO

Another shooting in Oregon ........people are nuts.....
everybody needs to carry a gun and some of this stuff would not happen and it would saves some lives......
When you do not have a gun to return fire you're at the mercy of the idiot with the semi automatic that's there to kill as many as possible.
If everybody had a gun the idiot would go some other route or place to try to do his killing.
I have my carry permit, my DW now has hers, and my daughter is working on getting hers....... As the world goes nuts I'm spending my money on ammo.
good for finding food (hunting), trading or bartering for food and /or supplies, worth more than money after the SHTF.....
Now if only I had a bus and lots of fuel...LOL

Re: AUTOZONE FIRES EMPLOYEE FOR BEING A HERO

Oregon is a shall issue state. Everyone carries there. At least everyone I know.

What I don't understand, mainly because not much info, is how only 2 people were killed. That doesn't include the dirtbag doing the shooting. They said the mall had 10,000 people in it. It's Chritmas time. The malls are packed. People said they heard lots of gunfire. I wonder what he was shooting at.

CC. Hell , I don't know.....Sounds like the guy was just a bad shot.
The news said he quit shooting because the gun jammed.......
Then shot himself after he got it working again...

Isn't that the way things are in Switzerland? Or did I hear misinformation. Not much crime there that I'm aware of.

Re: AUTOZONE FIRES EMPLOYEE FOR BEING A HERO

yes, I do believe so......
Gun control will only restrict the legal gun owners. The bad guys will get guns regardless of the laws.
I am sorry for the shooting victims and their families and wish it had never happen but more laws will only make it more difficult to protect what is yours be it family or property.
But I'm sure the anti gun crowd will be screaming for even more laws. It's already started on TV today after the school shooting today. I ready do not know the answer but I personnally think
if everyone had gun training and weapons available or even near by we could reduce the number of deaths by the crazies out there.

just my 2 cents

Getting back to the original subject of this post, I just ordered a part from O'Reilly's for my Dodge RV. Shouldn't have fired that guy, A.Z.
