I'd say without measuring, about 22 feet...I can measure in the AM if you would like a more exact number...

78" is about as tall as you will find in any school bus. If you need more headroom you will need to look at a transit coach. Transit coaches, particularly the low floor models, have the most headroom of any bus on the road today.

Gillig and El Dorado made some transit buses that were 30' which would give you at least 20' of usable space behind the driver. 30 ft El Dorado (1999) with 4 in stock - Used Buses for Sale at Transit Sales International

Be aware that the high headroom is only found between the front of the bus and the rear axle. From the rear axle back the floor is level with the tops of the fender wells. The fuel tank had to go somewhere.

I know you said 30' was your limit but here is a pretty nice one that is 35' and it has your 78" headroom.

Here is one that has a lot of what you will need to do already done to convert from bus use:

Thanks, 21'-22' is what my guess/estimate was. Do you have kitchen, toilet & shower by chance in it? Trying to figure out how much we can fit.

This thread is amazing. The Blue Bird Vantage link is gold. Can someone confirm for me - am I reading this right? Is this bus 30'4" long bumper to bumper? Unit Dashboard | Portal
