I don't think the middle piece in the first pic counts as a trailer - if you look at it, it is actually a dolly under the fifth wheel or gooseneck of the horse trailer. It would be just like the dolly under the second and third trailers of a "Road Train," as the Aussies call them. The dolly pictured appears to be a custom unit that has some storage added.

I thought the Aussies ran 5 to 7 trailers, but this episode only had triples. Still, pulling 3 tanks of liquid explosives along a two-lane road through an active bush fire area makes for an exciting ride . . . . . . . .
The scary thing is that there is no road test for double or triple combinations.
You answer a few extra multiple-choice questions on your learner's permit exams (mostly on the air brakes), and then take your road test pulling a single semi-trailer. Ask me how I know.
