Cluster gauges

Hi all,

I have a 36' 1999 International AmTran FE flatnose, and the instrument gauges are not reliable.

I'm looking to replace them, but I'm unsure about my options. Currently it has a cluster of gauges that are all one piece. I'm not really a fan of the overall look, and I would like to customize it a bit, if possible. I've never worked on this type of thing before, so I'm not totally sure what I'm dealing with.

So... I guess my question is two-fold. 1) If I can only replace the existing cluster with the same kind, can anyone point me to a site where I might find that replacement, and 2) If I can customize it with individual gauges mounted in my own way, what do I need to look for in the replacement gauges.

I'm a total newbie at this, so please don't blast me if these are stupid questions.

Thanks!
Devon

Welcome Devon,

Internationals are prone to gauge failure due to cold solder joints on the back. A common fix is to remove the cluster and properly resolder the connections.

I bet that there is a YouTube video detailing it.
