Eccb

I just wanted to tell y'all that I went to Tampa for a long weekend - my annual "To hell with all this snow and cold" spree. I took an opportunity to drive a couple hours to have lunch with Charlie Brown and see his bus. Charlie is looking well and is in great spirits; I had a blast with him! I got to see his newest short bus and watch it pi$$ coolant for a moment. I also got to meet Shawn, a good friend of his who's given him quite a bit of assistance over the years.

A good time was had by all! It was the first time my wife had laid eyes on a stripped out skoolie. She thought there was a lot of room in it. When I told her I was planning to buy about 3x that much room (12 ft vs 36 behind the driver's seat) she was appropriately impressed.

Roxy was working; she sent her regrets. I'll meet her next time.

Glad to hear ECCB is doing well. What will it take to get him reinstated here??? His contributions here were enormous and he put a lot into helping make this forum a great resource.

How about it Moddies? Personally, I feel like he got the short end of the stick from the attack that was made on him. C'mon guys and gals...

Bring back ECCB!

Thanks for the update. Was wondering just this morning how he was making out. Isn’t their wedding in just a few days?

THe site admins were pretty clear that they didn't want to let him back on. They closed the last thread asking about it, and I predict the same thing will happen to this one.

ECCB has been helpful to many on this site including me.A little spirited conversation is not a reason to be banned temp suspension maybe but it has been long enough reinstate him please!

If they close a thread just because Dan Fox has been nice enough to give us an update on how ECCB is doing then it’s time for me to mosey on down the road.

I agree that ECCB got the shaft.
There have been more "tart" replies from others, that I find worse than anything he ever said. He has, for the most part, always been an encouragement to everyone, and is missed. Reinstate him, and ask him to get Shawn to join in as well.
How many requests will it take?

I know that I have made a few sharp replies when prodded and had to tell myself "don't feed the troll" and step away from the conversation.

We all slip up occasionally.

I'm a new member here, but I'll add my vote to bring him back. I found his responses helpful when I was lurking and looking for a bus.

Having said that, I've also managed several larger forums and I'm old school, was a SysOp for a very large BBS before the web took over. I can tell you that without the users you'll end up with a forum that's filled with newbies with no experience to help them, or posts offering skoolies for 70k

Without the users the forums are nothing. Temporary bans tend to work best and if you find that user continuing to be banned then do something more permanent.

My question to the staff, was either of these users banned or was this a one shot deal?

Please respect the very users that help create the content for this site and allow them to come back.

James

I agree, bring him back. This forum is for the benefit of the community, is it not? And if the community wants him back...

At least put it up to a vote or something.

Janet didn't actually say that. She simply re-stated the site rules, didn't discuss personalities, and closed the thread.

Glad to here he is doing good. I should have gotten his phone number cause I would have already called him myself just to check in on them.
When is east coast and rusty going to be allowed to get there noses out of the corners?
We have a game of skoolie's to play and ECCB and I were on the same team.
Please let them out to play today miss.,mrs.,mister moderator.

Indeed she didn't say that, but it seemed pretty well inferred to me. Closing the thread wouldn't make much sense if it was still an open debate.

Moderators always close threads like that on any forum I've ever been on. At least she didn't delete it. As far as the Mods are concerned, there is nothing to debate.

If either of the bans were temporary, and if the guys want to come back ...
