I can't believe an operational EGR will make it run better or more efficiently as it introduces inert exhaust gasses into the intake displacing fuel/air mix resulting in less power, but also less oxides of nitrogen from lower combustion temperature. A blazer I had ran like crap when the EGR solenoid stuck in the open position, a little carburetor cleaner, and an unplugged connector, problem solved. (don't tell Al Gore)
