Farthest bus bought?

Considering getting a bus that sits over 2000 miles from me. Am I nuts? Has someone else travelled as far for the right one?
I'm figuring about a $350 one way plane ticket and about $750 in fuel for the return trip. Does that sound about right?

Cal definitely has an idea what going a LONG way for a bus is like...
His epic trip to Tn was a big inspiration for me getting my bus. I "only" went 800 miles and back for mine. Piece of cake!

Felt like 125* inside the bus the whole way with every window opened. I was pouring water in my shoes to cool off. That was a fun trip.
There was one from Phoenix, AZ. One from Albany, OR. One from Salem, OR. My last one was from Texas. I had to go twice for that one. Then coming home through Lake Powell, AZ, then Utah to Las Vegas to buy that MT647 transmission. Just call me crazy over buses.

My trip was literally the polar opposite. It was 10 degrees F. Icicles hanging inside the bus from the leaky roof exits...
Was nerve-racking but so worth it. I'd do it again tomorrow.
Takes a crazy person to do this kind of stuff!

Flew to Sacramento, CA met up with a close friend, changed the drum brakes on his Explorer, had two near-death experiences on I-5 due to Cal DOT being STUPID, got to the bus, complete service ($750) included replacing some worn out parts, left Bakersfield, seven days total, $560 in diesel, and 2300 miles later, home in Katy Texas......

I say GO FOR IT!!!!!!
