I'm looking at govdeals and surplus public auction. Any other websites?

Thanks for the response.

keep a look out on the firums here too in the busses for sale thread... often times people post links to auctions or crsaigslist ads of various busses they see for sale... if in an area where forum members live, ask nicely and someone might go inspect a bus for you that captures your interest..

I'd gladly take it for the current price if I didn't have to drive it home from IL.
Would make a killer landscaping work van.

I'm guessing that thing will go for 2k+.
What you think about the rust under it?

I'm just saying that if it were a grand or less and close-by it would be a decent deal for a beater work van.

This is a 1986 short bus in good condition. Runs, drives, and shifts fine. It has a 350 cid chevy gas engine and automatic transmission. The engine was replaced in 1995 and has just over 37,000 miles on it the bus itself has just over 93,000 miles. This has been used for classroom field trips the last 10 years.

Condition: GOOD

Well, I just don't trust anything in the description. My last bus said good tires and all 4 rear were dry rot when I picked up.
I might go for it. I need another road trip.

If you think your last bus needed work you'll be aghast when you see the project I'm undertaking.

I wouldn't go across the country for a beater work van, but I'd trust a govdeals description over any CL or Ebay ad.
All I need is something to pull a utility trailer with a mower and some yard tools around. I'm high bidder on an older GM flatbed one ton truck right now, we'll see how this one goes. I bid on about three vehicles at any given time. I've won two of them in two years of bidding but with my method I've scored two really amazing deals on great vehicles. And a few other doodads from the local university.

I'm already bidding on that one in TX!
Its too new to be affordable, I'd imagine. It'll likely go for around ten or twelve.

I also went ahead and bid on that one in TN too!
I'm actually up front on that one so far!

ECCB......Hey Sunshine. If you're in the Houston area, let me know. Was hoping to get together with some other local skooliers, but haven't heard when, or if, they are going to ever get together. A beer, or other refreshing beverage, always tastes better with good conversation. I'm not too terribly far from Deer Park, if you get that 16 passenger bus.
Good Luck

Definitely!

You're welcome to come to our roof raise and chili cookout here in FL in Feb, if you feel like it.

I thought the one in Alton, IL. looked like a pretty good bargain. Surface rust don't hurt nuttin.
But then I see a lot of flex exhaust piping which is a red flag for maintenance short cuts they may have done elsewhere.

Its still pretty cheap last I checked.
I thought about throwing my low bid into it, but I just wouldn't wanna drive to or from IL this time of year.

I've bid as much as I can on the 09 in TX. I'm sure it goes much higher.

dont make the same mistake I did ands assume that your Texas bus is ready for winter if you travel north.. LOL...

I took my Nice fancy Texas bus into the 0 f degree ohio weather and its air system wasnt happy at all... water got in everything and froze in various places...

I ASS-U-ME-d that all busses were built for any type of weather.. OOPS!!.

alas I had made sure my coolant, fuel, and oil were ready for winter but not the air system.. nevertheless when im done with it, the bus will go anywhere..

but its work making sure that if you plan to travel all over the country that your southern-bought bus can handle it..

ECCB'S Big bus came from KY so its ready but oricha if you are buying south and trasvelling north its something to keep in mind..
