Re: Fun in the sun (with buses)

Sounds like you guys had a fun weekend. Just curious to how much your bus weights. Mine is empty and weights 17,500, full of fuel and not much else, and with a 190hp engine, I can manage a 6% grade at 37 mph. Just figuring what I will be able to do that 6% hill once I'm closer to the 26k mark. Your bus may already weigh that much I'm assuming, since it seems the RE buses weigh more then the FE or dog nose buses when empty. Correct me if I'm way off base here cause I'm only going by the way they ride. It just seems like the RE are heavy bc they glide down the rode whereas most others bounce.

Very upset I couldn't make it! My day job is about to drive me over the edge. Sounds like it was a good time.

Yes, hell or high water, I'll be there! My CASTO obligations are done, and if I'm lucky, a new employer or retirement by that time. I spent all the last 5 years getting the Crown ready and I want to use it now!

That's what weekends are for! Find a campground within a couple hours driving (so you don't spend all your time driving to your destination) and "go camping"! We used to camp within 30 miles or so of our home in SC. Had several campgrounds right there (all public... High Falls County, South Cove County, Chau Ram... used to be State Park now it's county, Mile Creek County Coneross COE, Twin Lakes COE, Oconee Point COE and Lake Hartwell State Recreation Area ...just to name a few of the closest). Stretch that out to an hour's drive and you should find someplace you can go. I don't care what state you are in, you should have a public campground near you.
