Going to look at this one Saturday. Thoughts?

2003 CHEVY EXPRESS 3500 BUS W/ WHEEL CHAIR LIFT. 6.0 Vortec gas engine. Automatic trans. Dual rear wheels. 107,000 miles. Runs and drives excellent. Handles like new. Fluids are very clean, Serviced regularly. No leaks. Everything on this bus works perfectly, including all safety equipment, wheel chair lift and tie downs, lights, etc. Cold air conditioning, Hot heat. Stereo. Newer tires. Perfect for school, club, church, RV, food truck, portable shop, contractor. Chair lift great for heavy objects, ac units, heaters, heavy parts, supplies, etc. If you are looking for a bus/vehicle like this, you wont be disappointed. Super clean. Please no scammers or lowballers. $6495.

Price seems high, but looks clean and supposedly has a very tall interior. Sounds like what I've been looking for, but what do you all think?

A low mileage 6.0L Vortec in a shorty is a great combo, but the price is a tad high for a rusty bus. Offer 3K max if you really want it or keep looking.

Hasn't this bus been on this forum before? It sure seems familiar, including the bus number and description.

This looks like one of the busses sold by the state of NJ back in January. I have one of those, very similar number. We looked at probably 30 or 40 of them. Each has it's own little issues. We ended up with one that was mechanically very sound for about half the asking price you have. It has its issues with minor rust in the ceiling and a floor rust spot just behind the door inside. Neither are catastrophic, and neither were visible on the underside, or from the inside. We've lucked out in that none of the windows leak, but others did have window leaks. If you decide to get it, just be prepared to take the effort to get those seat rails out of the floor, and strip it to check for leaks and rust. Check all surface rust on the outside to be sure it's just that - surface rust. One other thing to check is the outside body panel in the couple inches between the rear wheel well and rub rail. Half of the busses we saw were rusted through in that one spot - weird - and at well over half had at least a couple cancerous rust spots on the body. In the 40 or so busses we saw, we narrowed it down to about 5 or so that we were actually interested in.

I would agree to go in with a low offer and be prepared to not offer much more.

Chris
