Question Help with Shuttle tailgater search

I've been looking at shuttles on and off for six months and wanted some opinions.

Gas or diesel? I would estimate 1 or 2 100-200 mile trips a year along with 7 or 8 trips of less than 30 miles each. Then it might sit for 6 months with just an occasional drive.

Everything else being equal, would a newer bus with more miles or an older bus with less miles be preferred? I've seen a couple of 20+ year old buses with less than 70k, or 13 year old buses with more than 200k.

Is there a list of questions I should ask the seller initially that will help me decide if a bus warrants consideration? Anything specifically to run away from?

General consensus is to stay away from anything 2005 or newer due to possible expensive and hard to diagnose EGR and electrical emission issues. I would question the mileage of a 20yo bus with only 70k on it more than I would be concerned about 200k on a 2004 model. I see far too often speedometers being replaced, why I don't know.
