FYI, seat count is 16 for commercial, fewer exempts it. My Chevy van was a 15 passenger, now I know why they capped it there.

Here is a nice Texas chart that breaks down the weight restrictions

I drive pass 2 scale houses on long island every day. County cops and state troopers both use them. Never seen a bus or coach in them.

As a class A driver. I can drive any size cmv
BUT without the passenger endorsement i cant have passengers.. Go figure

PA also does not have any form of TEMP tags

they have something they "call" temp tags but they are not really temp tags. you have to "DO" everything you already have to do to get full tags so your just getting full tags mailed and a temp in the mean time IE better to stop at a tags place to do "precisely" the same exact process and just get the actual tags.

Montana has temporary tags, for which you pay an additional amount, that allow you to drive your beastie while waiting for specialty tags to come from Deer Lodge. If you purchase your vehicle from a dealer, used or new, that dealer is required to notify Deer Lodge. Deer Lodge then faxes a paper tag that the dealer is required to encase in a plastic sleeve and mount it on the back. If you don't order specialty tags (military, handicapped, etc.) then plain-Jane tags can be picked up at the county courthouse.

I believe non resident temp tags are $10 more than resident. The seller told me they would get me one if needed. When they said it would be $25, I thanked them, but declined. I got in it and drove it back to Atl. with no plates.
