Introduction new member and first bus!

Hello,
Figured Id make an introduction post since its my first time to the forum and also introduce my "new" (first) bus.

I'm a diesel tech by trade and co owner of a small shop that modifies diesel trucks and builds off road rigs. Basically we build anything cool; the correct way, at a very personal level with customers with very specific goals. So that's me. Anyway.

The good part:

Yesterday (well today) at about 2:30am, I rolled up to the shop with a "brand new" (to me) retired 1999 freighliner/Thomas 72 passenger school bus. I turned 78k original miles as I crossed back over the CA border. Its in great condition, has side boxes in perfect working order. No check engine lights, oil leaks, transmission problems (Allison) or bus control malfunctions!
Bought it in central oregon where it was retired from a local municipal fleet due to age and contract requirements. My plan is to turn it into a transport/toy hauler/super cool bus and do some pretty extensive modifications for personal spec preferences.

So Its nice to meet everyone. I have many questions, but Ill put in my time researching and reading before I start asking easily searchable questions and be "that new guy" . The official bus build will be a slow progress but ill make sure and start a thread in the conversions section when I do.

Thanks in advance for the help and look forward to meeting and being involved here!

78K??? --- Dang Pardner...you gonna have to drive that thing another 100K just to get in broke in good!

Welcome and great find on a good lookin' dognose. Keep the pix coming. And don't be surprised if you get a few "diesel tech" related questions from the crowd here. (would love to see some of your "other" builds as well).
