Looking for a primer on the Thomas Saf-t-line
And particularly on the HDX variant. I am looking to answer questions that I have, like, when was the caterpillar C7 engine introduced. What is the interior height? Were there high roof models? Do all 2004 and later models have airbag suspension? Were they offered with different ratios in the differential? If so what ratio would be most suitable for a highway cruiser? That’s a good start.

Another question I forgot to include was relating to Fuel capacity. Are there different options and what was the most common capacity size tank or tanks?

There was a fellow on here who used the term "Holy Grail" to describe his bus. I don't know if it was, but this 2002 HDX must be.
Correct me if I am wrong, doesn't this appear to be a raised roof model? I like the side widows too. If I were to raise the roof on a Skoolie I'd want those windows.
Looks like it's for sale here.

From what I found out, there are two capacities - 60 gal and 100 gal. Take your VIN to a local Freightshaker dealership and they can find out. Mine has a 100 gal tank.

Oh, you can't raise the roof on a Thomas. The sides slope inwards from the belt line. You should have about 78" of headroom on Thomas-bilt buses.

They're asking too much. I paid $8000 for my 2003 Thomas 84 passenger.

Some folks here have not heard and in their ignorance they have raised the roof on a Thomas anyway.
Ignorance is bliss....

Were there different heights from the factory? The white bus pictured in the preceding posts looks like it's taller, but it may just be that the side windows are taller.
Did air bag suspension ever become a standard feature?
And, what's all that up at the juncture of wall and ceiling? Ductwork for the A/C? That looks like it would be a handful to maintain and keep free of mold, but slick if was working.
