Looking for any repair for an ABS fuel tank.

I have cleaned, roughed and heated a gasoline fuel tank. I have used epoxy, super glue, ABS pipe solvent and with no success. Anyone have a good repair??? This tank is for a JD garden tractor with no replacement tank. Frank

Are you SURE it's ABS and not black poly? Sounds like that black poly. I've heard of a repair kit that will patch poly, just not seen it in stores.

TAP Poly-Weld. If you go with this, PLEASE let us all know if it works.

Have you tried JB Weld? I have seen it work on plastic radiators, glove boxes, and pipes. It's impervious to gasoline.

to make sure its abs if not listed on tank somewhere is to cut a small piece and do a burn test... i normally weld plastic back together and reinforce the broken area whilst doing so.

JB weld should be okay for a lawnmower tractor
