Looking for people to interview for skoolie webinar(s)

I run large-scale online conferences for education, my son and I are building a skoolie, and I run a tiny house meetup group in Asheville, NC, with over 1,000 members. I also work with a non-profit that has already converted a school bus into a mobile learning lab, which they sent to Central America, and they are working on another to serve in refugee communities on Utah.

I'd like to do some online interviews or discussions on skoolies -- how to think about the practical aspects, cool projects that have been or are being done, and anything else that's noteworthy. I'm wondering if any high school classes have done or are doing conversions as a school project?

I'm very comfortable in the online webinar format, and want to put that skill to some use in the skoolie / tiny / alternative housing arena. I'm also planning an online tiny house summit for 2017.

Is there anyone here who'd be open to being interviewed? If so, let me know what topics you think you could cover. Or do you have a recommendation for me of some skoolie folks that I would want to make sure I reached out to?

im not living in or camping in my 2 skoolies...

I use a bus sometimes as a daily driver (yes im a bus geek and just love driving a bus.. so yes it goes to walmart and publix sometimes)..

I also use one for a Mobile software / hardware DEV lab.. writing code and dreaming up features is like art.. and so for my business and VoIP product I travel and drive places.. then park and solve problems in software code.. the bus allows me to test them on Live systems and servers right away rather than having to go to an office or a lab or a customer site to do it...

I'm willing to give some interviews. Heavy Fuel is the strip-it-to-the-bones-and-rebuild build. I'm doing everything from rewiring the vehicle harness to HVAC to cabinetry to plumbing and so on. As we tackle each part of the project I'm happy to share what I've learned.

So love this. I'm working on a project to look at doing skoolie conversions with local students for making specific-purpose buses (maker bus, or library bus, or wifi bus...). Just enjoyed reading your description!

Seems like there was a group in the northwest a few years ago that posted something about classrooms. Haven't heard from them in quite a while.

If you want to talk about doing things a different way or making your own systems, I can probably bend your ear for a while.

Hey - we can get excited about this. We're driving southward - in VA right now. We're interested in visiting Asheville for a few days. Can you plug us into the crowd there? We're happy to show off our bus, do an interview, and help with other projects.

We're a family of 3 (including a 1.5 year old) living full-time on our schoolie. We have some interesting mods, including:

* RO system with preserved reject water for non-potable use
* Deep Cycle batteries
* DC distribution (ie, lots of devices that work without an inverter)
* Shunts for power metering
* Raspberry PIs for DC power logging and lighting control
