Mechanic needed

How do I find a bus mechanic for my school bus? All I see are car mechanics advertising. A diesel mechanic introduced himself to me but never seems to be available when I am or consistently no-shows to all bookings. So, I'm looking for a professional business n the Columbia South Carolina area.

Have you tried running a CL ad? I'm sure there is someone in your area who can fix older buses and needs the work.

Yeah. Rather have somebody that guarantees their work

There are lots of guys who are certified and have mobile operations. They are the ones who come out and service tractors and equipment at farms. I know a couple of guys who do that.
Or you could try to hook up with someone who does maintenance and repair for a local school district. Offer him or her some side money on the weekends.
Of course if you have to have an actual brick and mortar shop, I'm sure the yellowpages are full of them. Or just head towards the interstate and look for a truck service center.

Go to a school district and see if they'll do it for you.

Truckdown.com led me to one that looks and sounds promising. I'll have to ring them tomorrow. Dealing with the guy that promises to show then never shows has put me off private enterprise. Oddly enough the place I read about is also close to the NAPA that supplies bus parts off the shelf and the school bus depot.
