Melon Haulers

While on my way home from Florida I seen 4 of these, 2 I seen in northern Florida about 50 miles south of the border and seen the other two in South Georgia, the one in the pic just happen to pull in the gas station across the street from where I was gassing up so I snapped a few pics.

Dont know how heavy they were loaded but looking at how much the suspension and tires were squatting I would say they were very over loaded, it was filled from front to back up to the height you see where they cut the top off, they start right behind the drivers seat and go all the way to the rear door.

Wonder why they bothered keeping the back full height.

I would suspect the back is high to give the option of stretching a tarp across at roof height?

Ok, who else clicked the thread hoping to see something other than a skoolie hauling fruit?

They build these citrus loaders "goats" off of old school busses too. I just wonder that being ag/commercial equipment and not a true skoolie, would Progressive insure that melon hauler? It looks really safe and up to DOT standards.
