Interesting! Looks like this one was inspired by a 1950-51 Mercury:

One of the side links from that site leads to this map for the geographically challenged: Denver, New Mexico; Chicago, Missouri; and Atlanta, Alabama:
(Proabably an attempt to overlay a route map over a continental map went wrong.)

The tank truck barbecue reminds me of the Dobbertin Surface Orbiter I saw up close and personal a few years back. It was fashioned out of a stainless steel milk tank semi-trailer. The builder actually cruised the Caribbean and beyond in it:
